Game Narration

Summary

Manish wakes from a disturbing nightmare, anxious yet determined to prepare for dinner with his strained partner Sonali. Their tension worsens with the arrival of Sara, a new housemate suggested by the landlord. Though he has never met her, Manish feels drawn to Sara over shared passions in books and music—something that unsettles Sonali. Sara’s move-in is marked by strange occurrences: flickering lights, shifting objects, and a suffocating presence in the house. Suspicion grows, and Manish believes Sara is tormenting him—until he chases a figure and finds his own corpse hidden in the laundry room. Realizing he is already dead, his ghost terrifies Sara, who collapses. The story ends with a chilling news report: Sara hospitalized, Manish confirmed dead, Sonali’s role left ominously unclear.

Key Takeaways

  • Explore Horror psycho thriller genre in 2D space ✔️

  • Come up with an interesting

Narrative for the game.✔️

  • Explore with Art and sound design.✔️

  • Explore Game mechanics. ✔️

  • Focus on GDD in detail.✔️

  • One major Learning during this Design Project I learnt is, Making 2D horror
is more challenging than making a 3d horror game if you ask "WHY"

    • No jump scare give the impactful scare

    • since you are mostly playing in X and Y axis you have to play smartly
how to make the player experience a certain feeling of thriller and scare

    • utilization of sound design with spatial audio right and left make more impact.

    • Sound design players a huge role with the kind of art you are working with to
give it a horror and thriller feel.

  • Will I work on a 2D horror game in future if an opportunity comes?
    "YES"
